PNAS，美国国家科学院院刊, 全称是Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America，作为全球屈指可数的“百年名刊”之一，同时作为国际期刊界的“四大天王”（Nature，Science，Cell，PNAS）之一，于1914年创刊，出版频率是周刊。据报道，要想在中科院系统谋取一个position，门槛是两篇PNAS一作或通信。
PNAS的每一篇研究论文都由美国国家科学院(National Academy of Sciences-NAS)的一名院士编辑和处理。NAS是一个私营非营利组织，由2405名美籍院士和483名外籍院士组成，其中183人是诺贝尔奖得主。PNAS这本期刊总结起来有4大特点：

62%的投稿来自美国以外地区，作者分布广泛。95%的投稿来自作者直接投稿而非美国院士专享绿色通道。
